Advocacy and
the RTO
The Retired Teachers Organization of Nova Scotia is deeply committed to advocacy, working tirelessly to represent the interests of its members. The organization engages with policymakers, collaborates with stakeholders, and raises awareness about key issues affecting retired teachers, such as pension security, healthcare, wellness, and retirement. Through its advocacy efforts, the RTO ensures that the voices of retired educators are heard and their contributions to society are recognized and respected.

ACER-CART
ACER-CART (Association Canadienne des enseignantes et des enseignants retraités – Canadian Association of Retired Teachers) is a national organization that advocates for the interests and well-being of retired teachers across Canada. It works to protect pension security, promote access to quality health care, and address other issues affecting retired educators. Through collaboration with provincial and territorial associations, ACER-CART represents retirees’ voices at the national level and fosters unity among its members.
RTO and The Senior’s Advisory
The RTO is also affiliated with the Seniors’ Advisory Council of Nova Scotia (Group of IX). The main objective of the group is to provide advice to the Minister of Seniors and Long-Term Care on all aspects of the Seniors’ Pharmacare Program.
